This website has been set up to introduce the Endeavour 24 yacht which is a very stable 24 ft (7.4) m long glassfibre racing/cruising Bermudan rigged four berth yacht suitable for all ages, normally crewed by four or five persons, but can easily be sailed single handed if required. Originally designed and manufactured in Sydney from about 1965, a large number were constructed from 1970 in Henderson, (on Cockburn Sound to south of Fremantle), and from about 1974 onwards from a factory in Osborne Park, W.A. There are a total of well over 45 E24’s scattered through Western Australia and over 380 Endeavour yachts throughout Australia, with a number sold overseas.
The original Endeavour Yacht Association of Australia was formed in Botany Bay, NSW in the late 1960’s representing owners and crew of not only E24’s but the full range of Endeavour Yachts ranging in size from 20 ft to 34 ft. The formation of the Victorian Association followed shortly after. Both Associations maintain their own websites (NSW - www.endeavour.asn.au & Victoria – www.eyavic.com) from which their latest Newsletters can be sourced.
The Endeavour 24 Yacht Association of Western Australia was formed along similar lines to the other interstate Associations in December 1970 by a number of local E24 skippers to organise one class racing and social events based at Royal Perth Yacht Club. The W.A. Association has grown from the original 5 or 6 yachts to over 25 with a current membership exceeding sixty skippers and crew.
